Red Bull F1 splits from Infiniti, will be sponsored by Tag Heuer from 2016

The Red Bull Formula 1 team will be sponsored by Swiss watch maker Tag Heuer from the 2016 season onwards.

The announcement comes shortly after Red Bull and Renault restructured their deal. The deal now involves Renault continuing to supply the engines, with no promotional aspect for Renault-Nissan planned, according to our sister title Autosport.

Infiniti and Red Bull partnered in Formula 1 between 2011 and 2015, with an annual figure of about $70 million (£46.7m) quoted for the deal. Red Bull and Infiniti will part ways at the end of the year.

No figure has been released for the Tag Heuer sponsorship, but the brand is renowned for its relationship with motorsport, in particular Formula 1, having formerly sponsored McLaren. The 2016 season car will carry the name Red Bull Racing-Tag Heuer RB12.

Renault is also making a return to Formula 1, having recently announced its acquisition of the Lotus F1 team and announcing its plan to compete as a stand-alone, Renault-badged team.

If they get unto a podium

Thats only if they get unto the podium next year. They only won 3 times this year and that was only because Vettel was there. They had a couple of 2nd and 3rds too being the only team getting anywhere near to Mercedes in most of the races.

Red Bull/Tag Heuer Formula 1 partnership

LOL, well at least they will have decent watches to wear on the podium.
I used to feel sorry for them being hassled onto the podium by the jerk with the beard who has their hats and watches ready for them....and then having to put a CASIO watch on while the others had Omega's/Rolex's etc. A bit like the poor country cousins....no matter how much Casio had paid for sponsorship, it wasn't a good fit...no pun intended!
