Trion – a start-up American supercar firm – plans to develop V8-powered Nemesis model with 1973bhp and 270mph-plus top speed

The Trion Nemesis, a hypercar with over 1973bhp, will go into production in 2016. Powered by a twin-turbocharged V8 engine with an unknown capacity, the Nemesis is claimed to have a top speed of over 270mph, and is able to hit 60mph in 2.8 seconds.

Such speeds would allow the Nemesis to beat rivals including the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse and the Koenigsegg One:1, the latter of which has 1322bhp available and a claimed top speed of 273mph.

Trion Supercars is described as making an "advanced ultra-luxury, high-performance line of vehicles designed around the driver".

The Nemesis features an aerodynamic shape which its makers describe as being "flawless from the front growl to the captivating tail configuration". At the rear, the Nemesis shows the same wide-arched style as the McLaren P1.

Inside, the Nemesis features a digital dashboard and internet connectivity. The car also has a 'Predator Mode', which modifies its height, suspension settings, exhaust noise and rev limit as well as its interior lighting.

The American-based startup company says it is currently taking orders for the Nemesis, with examples of the base GT car selling for $1.2 million. Limited-edition RR Black Ops and RR versions of the Nemesis retail for $1.98 million and $1.6 million respectively.

In August 2014, the firm also announced it would be expanding the line-up of Nemesis vehicles to include Grand Touring, hybrid and fully electric models. The Nemesis ER will be powered by dual electric motors coupled to a unspecified four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, and offers a claimed range of 720 miles.

The fully electric Nemesis E, meanwhile, will come with all-wheel drive, regenerative braking and electric drive which equates to around 986bhp.

Similar start-up operations are providing increased competition in the hypercar market. The Keating Bolt was in 2013 with mention of a 340mph top speed, while last year Arash unveiled its AF8, although that car was reputed to reach a much more likely 200mph.

There is no doubt there is know how in USA ...

... to make 2000 bhp. V8 engines. After all Americans do have their own motorsport. Among others, dragsters. Don't know if anyone working for the mentioned company. Is tied to US motorsport. But there is no reason to believe, this engine can't be making 2000 bhp. But is it reliable - durable? That's a whole other issue. Dragsters after all tend to have engines that last very briefly. But do really produce masses of power. However is the car going to be as thoroughly developed as the Bugatti? Probably not.

I have the wheels for this

I saw them today on, ahem, a Toyota pickup. The wheels had five black spokes, a chrome rim, and all around the rim you had black one-inch letters that read "ultra motorsport" and my neck is now sore.

Fantastic looking car but

Fantastic looking car but would be so much better if it was smaller, weighed 1000kg's and had a 300+bhp triple under the bonnet........suppose that would be a hood though, with it being built by those warmongers across the pond.
