Advanced new tech for revised Range Rover model range includes autonomous features and a supercharged V6 engine

The 2017 Range Rover will come with Jaguar Land Rover’s latest semi-autonomous technology and an additional supercharged V6 engine when it goes on sale this autumn.

Priced from £76,350, the refreshed SUV line-up will get new driver assistance systems in three specification levels, adding features such as lane departure warning, parking assistance, autonomous emergency braking and driver fatigue monitoring.

Higher-spec cars gain adaptive cruise control and a traffic sign recognition system that adjusts cruise control speed to the posted limit. 'Low traction launch' is also available to help pull away from a standstill on slippery surfaces by controlling the torque applied by the driver.

Inside, the new Range Rover receives JLR’s InControl Touch Pro infotainment system with a 10.0in touchscreen display.

Buyers can specify an optional Pro Pack to gain remote control of features such as climate settings and the car’s door locks. Controlled via a smartphone app, the system can offer door-to-door navigation and learn a user’s regular routes, and it can alert owners if the alarm is triggered.

A range of finishes and 19 new colours are also available, designed by JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations division.

Also added to the 2017 range is JLR’s supercharged 3.0-litre V6 engine. The 335bhp, 332lb ft unit is shared with the Jaguar F-Type and accelerates the SUV from 0-60mph in 7.1sec. It slots between the Range Rover’s existing diesel V6 and V8.

A new SVAutobiography Dynamic model will also be introduced as a sharper alternative to the Range Rover’s current range topper, the SVAutobiography.

The SVAutobiography Dynamic will use the same 542bhp supercharged V8 as that car, giving it a 0-60mph time of 5.1sec, but gains more driver-focused chassis settings and an 8mm lower ride height. It also gets a few cosmetic tweaks, including Graphite Atlas-finished side vents and grille, while inside it gets diamond-quilted leather seats.

The range-topping model starts at £132,800. It’ll go head-to-head with the 562bhp Porsche Cayenne Turbo S.

Has the SWB Supercharged

Has the SWB Supercharged 550PS version had a £17,000 price cut??

SWB Supercharged

It has! Only 22 V8 SVA petrols were sold up to the end of March, which actually outsold the TDV8 (5 sold) and the TDV6 Hybrid (3). So this is admission that the crazy prices for the SVA have restricted sales.
