The new 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is now on sale in the UK with exterior styling tweaks, enhanced safety technology and Volkswagen 's new infotainment system.
Three specification levels are available. The basic Life model kicks off the range from £32,125, the Elegance variant begins at £36,740 and Sport-focused R-Line versions start from £36,710. All specifications offer a selection of three petrol and two diesel engines, ranging between 147bhp and 245bhp.
Life models are equipped with LED headlights, adaptive cruise control and three-zone climate control as standard, along with front and rear parking sensors and a new 8.0in Discover navigation system. The model also gains the firm’s digital driver’s display as standard for the first time.
Elegance trim gains bespoke bumpers, a light strip across the front grille, 19in wheels and IQ Light LED matrix headlights. Ambient lighting is added to the interior at this level, as well as microfleece-covered seats and a panoramic sunroof. Elegance trim also brings a reversing camera, a raft of assist systems and keyless entry.
The Sports-focused R-Line specification adds sports suspension and progressive steering, along with 20in wheels, a rear spoiler, black interior roof liner and comfort sports seats.
Like the five-seat standard car, itself substantially updated last year, the Allspace gains a redesigned front end that incorporates a more prominent grille with illuminated strips and a redesigned Volkswagen emblem.
Volkswagen has updated the SUV’s headlights, adding new interactive IQ Light LED lights to follow in the footsteps of the standard Tiguan. First used by its other, more luxurious SUV, the Volkswagen Touareg, these comprise 24 individual LED diodes that can adjust, partly automatically, to different driving conditions.
The IQ Drive Travel Assist system is also new for the facelifted Tiguan Allspace, providing level two autonomous driving assist functions at speeds of up to 130mph.
Carrying on the updates to the inside, Volkswagen has worked with audio specialist Harman Kardon to develop a new top-rung sound system. The Allspace is also the latest Volkswagen model to receive the firm's new climate control system with touch panels and sliders.
The petrol engines on offer continue to be a 148bhp 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine that drives the front wheels and a pair of 2.0-litre four-cylinder units that send 187bhp or 242bhp to both axles. A pair of 2.0-litre diesels remain available as well, sending either 148bhp to the front or 197bhp to all four wheels.

My father has just purchased one of these Tiguans' (2025 basic model) as he needs something with decent boot space for his golf clubs.
I'm quietly impressed with it. Yes it's a bland-looking SUV, but it does have some good technology, and it ticks most boxes for a guy not wanting to enter into the EV world. icariin New Zealand
Goes on sale but you'll have to wait at least 7 months at the moment (and getting worse), as we found out trying to order a new Volkswagen.
@cobnapint, the Allspace is VW's version to the Skoda Kodiaq or Seat Terraca and can have 7 seats. The notsomuchspace is 5 seats and same as the Ateca and Kantrememberwhattheskodaversionisq
