If you’re in the market for a new car, or after the best new-car leasing deal, you can save thousands with a little research. This is the pick of what our deals experts have found this week.

Best new car deals

The Vauxhall Meriva has been successful for GM in Europe, catering for families whose primary needs are practicality and low running costs. Pentagon is currently offering a facelifted 1.4i 16V Tech Line model for £10,995, a saving of £2820 from the £13,815 list price.

Audi's SQ5 is a fast and desirable family mover, and thanks to this offer from Drive the Deal there's still cash to be saved on premium vehicles. This offer is for an quattro diesel model which comes loaded with extras. The discount of £4,100 means customers pay £49,365 rather than the £53,465 list price.

The Fiat 500 continues to be a good earner for the Italian manufacturer, with owners loving its retro style and small proportions. We spotted a good deal on Amber Vehicle Solutions for a 500C 0.9 Twinair Colour Therapy convertible at £200.18 per month. The 36-month contract is based on an initial payment of £1201 and is subject to a 10,000-mile annual limit.

The Chrylser Ypsilon hatchback comes with interesting styling and plenty of equipment inside. Prices for the supermini continue to be good, with Vehiclelease currently offering a 1.2 S model for £135.59 per month. That's based on a 48-month contract and includes an initial payment of £813.54. There's also a 10,000-mile annual limit.

Deal of the Week

While our own Renault Clio RS 200 continues to divide opinions in the Autocar office, there are deals out there to let you decide for yourself. The Clio RS, in Lux trim and equipped with an EDC dual-clutch transmission, is available from £17,306 from Broker4Cars, a saving of £2689 from the £19,995 list price.
