The David Brown Automotive Project 2 will be a model to sit alongside the Speedback GT in the manufacturer’s retro-inspired lineup, the company has confirmed.

David Brown Automotive did reveal that the model would be launched in the summer, and is described as “The Original Remastered”, suggesting that the car to have inspired it will be an older model than the Aston Martin DB5, which inspired the Speedback GT. Like the Speedback GT, Project 2 will be built at the company’s headquarters in Silverstone, and will be launched with three unspecified derivatives, with the most likely approach being different levels of focus and performance, rather than differing body styles. The company's use of 'driver-focused technologies' on the car, as well as the shapes and colours, further suggest another simple, 60s-era model.
First deliveries of the Project 2 – the name is likely to be changed ahead of production – start in September. No price has been released yet, but a spokesman for David Brown Automotive said it would considerably undercut the half million pound asking price of the Speedback GT. Despite the car's throwback styling, like the Speedback GT, Project 2 is likely to feature modern technologies and conveniences.
