Limited-edition Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Red Vapor revealed

A limited-edition version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT performance SUV will go on sale next month, priced from £64,999.

Dubbed SRT Red Vapor, it’s powered by the same naturally aspirated 6.4-litre V8 engine as the standard Grand Cherokee SRT, producing 461bhp and mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Jeep says the SRT Red Vapor will hit 0-62mph in 5.0sec before topping out at 160mph.

Previewed last October at the Paris motor show, the SRT Red Vapor features a colour-coded bodykit, 20in alloy wheels and glossy black badging and grilles. An ‘Active Noise Cancellation’ system uses the audio system to counter any low-frequency engine noises, a feature that “enhances the engine’s sporty note”, according to Jeep.

Inside, the four-wheel-drive SUV is finished in black leather and red suede seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with backlit SRT badging and grey chrome inserts that replace the shiny chrome on the standard SRT.

The SRT Red Vapor gets an 8.4in touchscreen with Bluetooth, navigation and hands-free technology. Other standard features include a 19-speaker Harmon/Kardon audio system, adaptive cruise control, blindspot monitoring and a power-operated tailgate.

Buyers can choose from three colours for the SRT Red Vapor: metallic Redline Red, Brilliant White or Brilliant Black.
