Rolls-Royce has announced a long-wheelbase version of its Phantom limousine

One of the largest cars on show at the Frankfurt motor show is likely to be the latest offering from Rolls-Royce. The famous marque has chosen the German show for the debut of the production version of its long-wheelbase Phantom saloon.

Previewed at this year’s Geneva motor show, the revised model is 250mm longer than the 'standard' car, increasing cabin space to add to the car’s luxury status. A variety of optional equipment will also be available, such a rear seat DVD player, drinks cooler and a humidor. Initially, the extended wheelbase Phantom will ship only to the Middle East priced at $385,000, with deliveries expected to start at the end of this year.

Additonal special editions of the Phantom will also take a bow at Frankfurt. The Contemporary Phantom will feature Black Tulip wood veneer, black carpets, Jasmine leather seats, rear cooling box and blue chrome fittings, while the Bespoke version is designed to appeal to business users with a rear telephone, laptop power points, two individually adjustable rear seats and a cooling box.
