Ford’s evergreen Ka will get a new interior next year, Autocar can reveal. A sharp-eyed Autocar reader in the automotive trade spotted that the parts listing for components from the current dashboard now has a ‘year range’ heading of ‘9/96 to 02/05’, indicating the current interior will be replaced at the end of February.
Sources say the refreshed model will start production in March and is expected to go on sale soon after. But the Ka facelift will be limited to the inside (right), and no mechanical or exterior changes are expected. Although it was first launched in mid-1996, the Ka has remained virtually unchanged. The highly stylised dashboard was much criticised at launch for a lack of storage space – something that will be addressed by the new interior.
