Currently reading: Next Honda NSX stalls

Honda may be reconsidering its plans for replacing the NSX supercar. Though it previously appeared committed to launching a production version of the HSC concept car, inviting Birmingham show-goers to approve it production, insiders have suggested that the NSX may not be replaced at all.

The HSC was the star of Honda’s UK motor show stand (right), where it was exhibited with an electronic ballot where visitors could vote either for production of the car, or for it to be 're-thought', via the touch of a button. It would appear that the results may have been less encouraging than expected because now Honda says that another project, maybe producing a Porsche Boxster rival, could be more worthy of its investment. The company has issued a denial, saying that it ‘will ultimately offer an NSX replacement’, but appears to have cooled a little on the HSC itself, whose styling has not received universal acclaim.
