Radical Skoda estate celebrates the firm's rallying success and features racing modifications

Skoda has revealed design sketches of its new Skoda Fabia Combi R5 show car, which will make its debut at the Wörthersee tuning festival later this month.

Built to celebrate the Czech firm’s success in rallying with the regular Fabia R5, the Combi sits on 18in alloy wheels and features a unique green, white and black design. Dominating the rear is a large spoiler, while a wide central exhaust can also be seen.

Power for the concept comes from a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine, with drive sent to all four wheels through a sequential five-speed transmission.

As many as 200,000 people are expected to attend the Wörthersee event, which last year hosted the unveiling of concepts including Skoda's Yeti XTreme and CitiJet concepts and Volkswagen’s GTI Roadster concept.
