The latest Corvette C7 will be engineered in right-hand drive, according to its chief engineer

The new Chevrolet Corvette C7 will be offered in right-hand drive, but not before 2015. Speaking at today's Detroit motor show, Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter confirmed the car will emerge “after 2015”.

Juechter said the C7 would need a significant amount of cockpit re-engineering, but there is a firm intention for the Corvette to become a world car.

Corvette bosses say American deliveries will begin in the autumn, but the car won’t arrive in Europe until the end of 2013. There is no official word on pricing, but Corvette says “anyone who can afford a Vette now can afford the new one”.

The car is currently priced from $49,600 (£30,750).

Steve Cropley is the oldest of Autocar’s editorial team, or the most experienced if you want to be polite about it. He joined over 30 years ago, and has driven many cars and interviewed many people in half a century in the business.

Cropley, who regards himself as the magazine’s “long stop”, has seen many changes since Autocar was a print-only affair, but claims that in such a fast moving environment he has little appetite for looking back.

He has been surprised and delighted by the generous reception afforded the My Week In Cars podcast he makes with long suffering colleague Matt Prior, and calls it the most enjoyable part of his working week.

Pointless

Waste of resources in my view. Doubt it will significantly change sales volumes in UK and other RHD markets. Better to focus that engineering time on creating something different like an R version or something similar

Umm. They appear to be sending mixed mesages...

From an Australian Car Website:

http://www.caradvice.com.au/208298/chevrolet-corvette-in-oz-commodore-ute-in-us-both-ruled-out/

In this article, GM vice president of global manufacturing, and president of international operations, Tim Lee, has stated, “We have no plan to put a right hand drive into that bonnet.”.

That doesn't really match what Mr Corvette engineer is saying here...

Which goes back to my post.

Which goes back to my post.  If they were going to make it in RHD they would have done the engineering already.
