The Goodwood Festival of Speed is underway. Tens of thousands of spectators will pack into Lord March's estate in the coming days to check out an incredible array of motoring and motorsport stars and cars.

This is the 25th Festival, and the event has grown to become so big that it's easy to miss things. So we're bringing you some of the best photos from the event, and have produced a list of the key things to look out for at Goodwood this weekend.

Keep checking the gallery above for images from the Festival throughout the day.

You can also watch Goodwood's live stream of the event here:

This year's theme is ‘Peaks of Performance – Motorsport’s Game-Changers’, so you'll find a lot of high-octane, high-speed fun. There's even a car or two making their debuts - UK and otherwise - so keep your eyes peeled for the first proper look at some brand new metal. 2017 marks the 70th year of Ferrari, so 70 iconic road and racing models will be on display, with many taking to the hill for dynamic demonstrations. The models on show will vary from vintage Grand Prix cars to the most exotic modern supercars.

Nissan is showing off its BladeGlider, an all-electric sports car concept that comes as part of its Intelligent Mobility demonstration. The brand will also showcase its latest Nissan GT-R to the Godowood crowds.

Ferrari test drivers Marc Gené and Davide Rigon, and Red Bull tester Pierre Gasly will also drive modern grand prix cars up the hill.

Sunday Shootout: a GT showdown

Goodwood traditionally ends with a timed competition, and this year it will feature a special section for stars and cars from the world of GT racing.

The line-up will include Jonny Adam, driving the Aston Martin Vantage that, sharing with Darren Turner and Daniel Serra, he drove to victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans recently.

Bernie Ecclestone tribute

This year's Goodwood will also celebrate the career of ex-F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone. The traditional sculpture next to Goodwood House celebrates Ecclestone's achievements, featuring five cars that represents his five 'ages' in F1. The 86-year-old will be providing his collection of historic racing cars for a static display.

All-electric London taxi

Ok, so it might not be a supercar, but LTC's all-electric black cab will make its first public outing at the Festival of Speed. Rather than picking the typical cab driver, LTC has elected 17-year-old Ginetta championship driver Katie Milner to be behind the wheel.

Jaguar XE SV Project 8

Jaguar's latest and hottest saloon car - the XE SV Project 8 - will make its public debut at the Festival of Speed. The recently-revealed super saloon will be limited to just 300 units, at a price of £149,995 each. It also makes a brilliant noise - something to listen out for when it hits the hill.

Aston Martin Valkyrie

Aston 1

Aston's 900bhp hypercar developed with Red Bull will feature on the Michelin stand, but won't take to the hillclimb. Still, for many, it'll be the first time they've seen the next-generation hypercar in the flesh, and with only 175 to be built, possibly the last.

Boreas hybrid hypercar

The Spanish hybrid hypercar, which was first revealed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, will be another hypercar to take to the Michelin stand, alongside the Aston Martin Valkyrie.

Bentley Continental Supersports

Bentey supersports 2017 2491

Bentley's fastest-accelerating-yet supercar will take to the hillclimb at Goodwood, in what will be its dynamic debut in the UK. You might not want to blink as it passes you; with 700bhp and 750lb ft of torque, 60mph passes in 3.4sec, there's a chance you'll miss it if you do.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio

Alfa romeo stelvio

Alfa Romeo's first SUV will make its UK debut at Goodwood, and will take to the hillclimb. On the Alfa stand will be the two hottest Giulias; the Veloce and Quadrifoglio, although these are on static display only.

Vanda Dendrobium

The all-electric hypercar from Singapore made its debut at the Geneva motor show, and will be at Goodwood in the flesh. It's another on the Michelin stand which will be "built in the tens, not hundreds", so could be your only chance to see one up-close.

The hardcore Civic Type R will make its UK debut at Goodwood, and its 316bhp should make it one of the quicker hillclimbers. It already has a front-wheel-drive Nürburgring lap record under its belt, after all.

Ford GT

Ford gt 0

The 2017 Festival of Speed will provide the British public with its first dynamic display of the Ford GT road car. Ford will send its GT up the famous hillclimb, piloted by Ford Chip Ganassi Racing drivers Andy Priaulx and Harry Tincknell, along with its Mustang GT4 racing car.

Proton Iriz R5

Proton may have just been confirmed to be under new management of Volvo’s parent company, Geely, but that won’t stop it from showing off its latest rallying weapon, the Iriz R5, which will be joined by a gaggle of Group B rallying heroes. It’s a long way removed from the Impian.

Extra 330LE

Not a car, but it fits into the speed element of Goodwood; the Extra 330LE is the world’s fastest-climbing aeroplane, capable of climbing 3000 metres in just 4min 22sec. It’s also electrically-powered, and holds records for the fastest electric plane and the best power-to-weight ratio.

Electric Goodwood Hillclimb record attempt

Nick Heidfeld - holder of the current overall Goodwood Hillclimb record of 41.6sec, set in 1999 - will attempt to break the open-wheel electric hillclimb record - the 2013 47.34sec time of the Lola-Drayson prototype. Heidfeld will be behind the wheel of Mahindra's M4Electro Formula E car.

Tom Kristensen

Legendary racer Tom Kristensen will also be celebrated at the Festival of Speed; the man dubbed Le Mans’ most successful racer will appear at the show in a celebration marking 20 years since his first win in the 24-hour race.

F1 heroes

A number of heroes of Formula 1 will be present. Making the hillclimb will be reigning champion Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes F1 W05 Hybrid. He'll be joined by Valtteri Bottas, who replaced him at Mercedes following the German's retirement during the off-season.

Renault Sport is bringing former race-winner Robert Kubica, who will drive an F1 car in public for the first time since his rally accident in 2011, along with current race driver Jolyon Palmer and test driver Sergey Sirotkin.

BTCC and tin-tops
